Whenever I do a Bourbon Institute, I always end it with a trivia question and blind tasting. I always enjoy a bit of trivia. I thought it might be interesting to give some of the questions here for your enjoyment. I will give the answers in a reply to the post after a week. That should give any of my readers a chance to answer the questions in a reply. The answers should be found in my posts on the blog. Have fun searching for them if you don’t already know the answers.
1) What is the name of E.H. Taylor, Jr.’s father?
2) What is the name of the chemist who gave his ruling on the “What is Whiskey?” question in 1906?
3) When did the registration of distilleries begin?
4) What was the surname of the brothers who set up trade with New Orleans from Louisville in the early 19th century?
5) Who moved their distillery to Mexico at the beginning of Prohibition and what was the brand?

I’m confused by question #2. I assume you mean Harvey Washington Wiley, but his ruling came after the 1906 Pure Food and Drug Act. President Taft answered the “What is whiskey?” question in 1909.
