All Nations Bourbon is bottled by Staghorn Spirits Company, the owners of Garrard County Distillery. Garrard County Distillery, a Kentucky distillery, opened in January 2024. This whiskey is from sourced barrels of five to seven years old and has two mash bills. The first is 75% corn, 12% rye, and 13% malted rye. The second is 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley. They sent me a bottle of this Bourbon the other day and Matt and I sat down to taste it. Here are our tasting notes.
All Nations Bourbon
Proof: 96
Age Statement: No Age Statement
Nose:
- Mike: Vanilla, bananas, apples, baking spices and oak wood.
- Matt: Caramel, rose petals, cinnamon and oak wood.
Taste:
- Mike: Vanilla, bananas, apples, cardamom, nutmeg and oak wood. Tasted with a dried cranberry and the apple is enhanced and the spice becomes a cinnamon. Tasted with a pecan and the vanilla becomes a rich caramel.
- Matt: Caramel, rose petals, cinnamon, nutmeg and oak wood. The dried cranberry brought out some orange zest. The pecan brought out some apricot.
Finish:
- Mike: Medium long with oak wood, vanilla and baking spices. The dried cranberry brought out cinnamon red hot candy. The pecan made the finish very long with oak wood, cardamom and lingering caramel.
- Matt: Medium long with oak wood, cinnamon and nutmeg. The dried cranberry made the finish longer with lots of cinnamon. The pecan made the finish very long with oak wood, tobacco, and lingering citrus notes.
I would pair this Bourbon with a cigar that has vanilla and cedar spice in the smoke. I would reach for a Rocky Patel Decade cigar.
