This is the latest expression of whiskey out of the Green River Distillery in Owensboro, Ky. It is a Bourbon whiskey with honey added to the whiskey, so it is no longer a Bourbon because Bourbon cannot have anything added to it. It is the Green River equivalent of the Wild Turkey Honey whiskey. They recently sent me a bottle of this whiskey and Matt and I sat down and tasted it the other day. Here are our tasting notes.

Age: No Age Statement
Nose:
- Mike: Vanilla, honey, apples, baking spices and oak wood.
- Matt: Caramel, marshmallows, honey and oak wood.
Tasted:
- Mike: Vanilla, honey, apples, cardamom and oak wood. Tasted with a dried cranberry enhances the apple and the cardamom. Tasted with a pecan and caramel and pears come out to join the party.
- Matt: Vanilla, lemonade, wild berries and oak wood. The dried cranberry added a honeysuckle floral note. The pecan added a honeycomb note.
Finish:
- Mike: Medium long with oak wood and honey. The dried cranberry added lingering apple notes. The pecan made the finish long with oak wood, pears and honey.
- Matt: Medium long with oak wood and vanilla. The dried cranberry added honey to the finish. The pecan made the finish long with oak wood, vanilla and honeycomb.
I would pair this whiskey with a cigar that has strong tobacco and vanilla notes in the smoke. I would reach for a NUB Habano cigar.
