Mike And Matt Taste Maker’s Mark Lost Recipe Series

Maker’s Mark Lost Recipe Series

Matt was out the other day and spotted this bottle of Maker’s Mark Lost Recipe Series and he had never seen it before. He texted me and neither had I. So he purchased a bottle. It is a bottle that uses a retired stave in their recipe. It has 3 baked American Pure 2, 4 Maker’s 46, and 3 Toasted French Mocha staves in the recipe. The Toasted French Mocha staves have been retired for several years now and it was a favorite stave to use in the mixture of the staves before it was retired. They give the whiskey a nice chocolate and coffee flavor that we like. We sat down to taste this whiskey the other day and here are our tasting notes.

I would pair this whiskey with a My Father The Judge cigar. The rich vanilla and chocolate in the smoke would complement the vanilla and chocolate in the whiskey.
