Mike And Matt Taste Chicken Cock Bourbon

Chicken Cock Bourbon

Chicken Cock is a very old brand dating to 1860. The trademark was registered in the 1899 Mida’s Criteria Register of Trademarks as being owned by G.G. White Co. of Paris, Kentucky, but the trademark states that the Bourbon was made by J.A. Miller of Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky. I am always happy to see an old trademark revived and this one has been revived by Grain and Barrel Spirits of Bardstown, Kentucky. They are bottling this sourced whiskey at 90 proof without an age statement. I picked up a bottle the other day and Matt and I sat down to taste it. Here are our tasting notes.

Chicken Cock Bourbon

Proof: 90

Age: No Age Statement

Finish:

I would pair this Bourbon with a cigar that has a lot of cedar spice in the smoke. I would reach for a NUB Habano cigar.
